Stencil Light Paintings
Bring to Light is a result of stencil light painting workshops for youth in Flemingdon Park. During the workshops, the participants designed stencils inspired by images that they felt close cultural connections to. I used these stencils to create light paintings in Flemingdon Park and Thorncliffe Park, the neighbourhoods that they reside in. The neighbourhoods were lit with the students’ stencils, integrating the concept of the students’ place in the city and in the artistic expression of the city.
