As a parent, I love finding multi-dimensional books that encourage my daughter to think about more than what’s on the page. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce the release of my new children’s book, The Little Fairy Finds Her Glow, which is sure to delight children ages 3-7. Featuring bright and colourful illustrations, this book will show children how small acts of love can have a huge impact.
The Little Fairy Finds Her Glow was funded through Ontario Arts Council’s Deaf and Disabilities Arts Project grant. The book is inspired by my recovery from my most recent depressive episode. It follows the journey of Sarrah, a light fairy who is very proud of the bright light that shines within her. However, when her wings become injured, and she is no longer able to fly, her glow gets replaced by dark shadows, and she becomes full of fear and sadness. Despite this, she keeps searching for the answer to her question: what will make her glow shine again?

It’s been just over a week, and the book has topped as a best seller in almost all of the categories it’s enrolled in. I have never had so many sales before, so I’m really excited and thinking about offering it in hardcover!

I’ll be honest. Getting to this point has involved more research than talent which is why I posted a list of VERY helpful resources earlier. If you’re just starting out as an author or illustrator, I highly recommend reading the article.
I hope you will consider purchasing and reviewing my book. Your support means the world to me and gives me the stimulus to keep writing, drawing and sharing with you!
